
MELROSE — The Wakefield Warrior Club’s 20th Annual Golf Tournament to support the Wakefield High football team took place on Aug. 4 at Mount Hood Golf Course in Melrose.
The tournament featured hole contests, raffles, a silent auction and an appearance from Patriots legend Ted Johnson.
The winning group was the David Chalifoux group.
In second was the foursome of Shane Brown, James Massone, Bob DiNapoli and Paul Seabury.
The putting contest winner was Richard Manzi.
Mike Prisco won the Closest to the pin on 10 and Mike Supino won it on 18.
Jaden Fullerton, Wakefield’s junior running back/linebacker won the straightest drive contest.
The Wakefield Warrior Club would like to thank everyone who donated and volunteered as well as the local businesses who sponsored the event: Honey Dew, SM Brown Heating and Cooling, Take Flight Construction, Bond Building, Maritime Behavioral Health Management, Light it up LLC, Marc Fiore Real Estate, Farmland, The Saving’s Bank and AWS.
The Warrior are currently getting ready for the season. Their first scrimmage is tomorrow morning against Pentucket at Landrigan Field. They host North Reading on Aug. 29 as a final tuneup for the regular season which will start on Friday, Sept. 5 at home against Greater Lawrence Tech.
