WAKEFIELD — The Wakefield High wrestling team held their final quad meet of the regular season on Saturday when they welcomed in Northeast Metro Tech, Saugus/Peabody and Lynn Vocational.

The Warriors swept the event, beating all three opponents to improve to 15-4 on the season.

Wakefield beat Lynn Vocational 30-0, winning all three contested meets via pins, Andrew Valley (1:01) at 126, Tommy Grover (2:33) at 132 and Nathan Ickes (:41) at 285.

The Warriors topped Northeast 54-27.

Ben Burdetsky got his pin in 1:29 at 220.

Wakefield’s toughest competition of the day came against Saugus/Peabody. The Warriors won it by a score of 48-24.

Once again it was the heavyweights who finished strong in the final four bouts to turn a 30-24 Warrior lead into a 48-24 final. Nathan Ickes (F, 2:23) and Lamonica (F, 3:35) each got 6 points with pins. Luke Ickes (DEC, 7-2) and Burdetsky (DEC, 12-9) each got 3 points with decisions.

Saugus/Peabody had four pins in a row from 145 to 170.

That made the matchup interesting after Wakefield won the first five bouts with four pins and a forfeit.

Bryan Fabbri got a pin in 1:10 at 120, Valley moved to 3-0 on the day with a pin in 48 seconds at 126, Grover moved to 3-0 with a pin in 4:22 at 132. Cullen got a pin at 138 in 1:05.
