Wakefield wins big for a great cause

CONGRATULATIONS to the nine/ten-year-old Wakefield Jimmy Fund team for winning the championship, and supporting a great cause. The Jimmy Fund Little League, which is comprised of over 5,000 teams throughout New England, has raised over $190,000 for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute this year. WAKEFIELD — The 9/10 Wakefield Blue Warriors played an All Star team from North Andover in the District 13 Jimmy Fund Championship game last Sunday and won 17-5.
The team of passionate coaches and resilient young players focused on two goals: Having fun playing for a good cause and raising the most money in the district to help kids fight cancer. The Wakefield Blue Warriors are grateful for the opportunity to participate and would like to thank Ralph D’Alleva, Andy Jamerson and Chuck Reeves from the WLL who helped make this happen.
