Independence Day Parking Restrictions and Road Closures

To accommodate the scheduled Independence Day activities, road closures and parking restrictions will be in place throughout the downtown and surrounding areas. 

All chairs and other items left along the parade route and fireworks-viewing locations must be removed by 7 a.m. on July 5.  Any items left in these areas after that time will

Nahant Street 2024

Settlement reached on Nahant St. 40B

WAKEFIELD — The long and winding road leading to a new Chapter 40B affordable housing project at 119-135 Nahant Street is nearly at an end.

The Zoning Board of Appeals denied the project last January, but the developer subsequently appealed the decision to the state Housing Appeals Committee.

Perfect Game Silver Division Champs

THE EXTRA INNINGS 13U club baseball team recently won the Perfect Game Silver Division Championship. The team finished the season with a 13-5 record and saved their best baseball of the season for the playoffs where they qualified for the finals and won the Championship game with a blowout score of 20-5. The team included seven Wakefield

WAKEFIELD — The Wakefield Public Works Department has some important updates about our upcoming trash and recycling collection.
