Forziati named to 2017 Boston Lax All-Underclassmen team

ANTHONY FORZIATI was recently named as one of three attackmen on the MIAA Division One Boston Lax All-Underclassmen first team. According to bostonlax.net, the team combines MIAA and ISL future stars who stood out to Boston Lax during their team's spring 2017 season. Forziati, who will be entering his junior year at WMHS, was named as a Middlesex League Freedom Division All-Star this year.

THE WARR IOR Track and Field Clinic held a meet last night at the Shaun Beasley Oval. The clinic, run through the Wakefield Recreation Department, has been meeting twice a week since July 11 to help middle school-aged participants learn the fundamentals of the many track and field events. WMHS track and field coaches, Ruben Reinoso and Perry Pappas were working with many other assistants in the training aspect of the clinic, and participants were able to pick four events to compete in for the meets yesterday and tomorrow.

Roberto named Freedom Division MVP

ADAM ROBERTO, a graduating senior on the 2017 boys' track and field team, was named Most Valuable Player in the Middlesex League's Freedom Division. Roberto was also named as a Middlesex League All-Star in the 800 meters and won the Division 3 Emass State Championship in the same category (pictured above). Roberto anchored the 4x800 meter championship team at the D3 Emass State meet, and was also part of the 4x800 team that broke the school record and qualified for New Balance Nationals. He will be attending Virginia Military Institute in the fall.
