WMHS Dance Team wins multiple awards at Universal Dance Association

THE 2017 WMHS Dance Team Program recently competed at the Universal Dance Association overnight camp at Emmanuel College. The team won the Leadership award, the Superior Dance award, and the UDA Full-Out award. Congratulations to coach Candice Spencer and the 2017 WMHS Dance Team Program.

Dziadyks bring home the hardware at the Bay State Games

OLIVIA and HANNAH DZIADYK, along with the Metro team, captured the silver medal at the Bay State Girls' basketball games this past weekend at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston. After day one, the Metro team was 2-0 against the Southeast and Coastal teams. Saturday brought much of the same with another two wins against the Central and Notheast. In the end, the Metro team would fall to the West and bring home a silver medal. The event was very beneficial for the WMHS student-athletes as they gained valuable experience and were scouted by college coaches. Front row first on left: Olivia; second on left: Hannah.

THE WAKEFIELD American League 12 year-old All-Stars have advanced to the district 13 semifinals which will take place tonight in Stoneham. Wakefield finished with a record of 4-1 in the first round of tournament games. The team got great pitching from Nathan Ickes, Luke Ickes, David Amyouny and also great relief pitching from John Porter. The All-Stars have played great defense all tournament, and also got clutch hitting from Matt Elwell who has hit two game-winning home runs.
