 THE WMHS boys’ hoop team recently held its awards banquet. Receiving their awards this year (from left to right) are Neil Fitzgerald (Coaches Award),  MJ Urbano (Sixth Player Award), Brian Dickey (Best All-Around and Patrick Gannon Awards), Dan Rej (Most Spirited Award), Tighe Beck (Most Desire Award), Louis Spaziani (Coaches Award) and Chris Calnan (Reg Hobbs MVP Award). Since the inception of the MVP Award 45 years ago, Chris is just the fourth player to receive the MVP Award outright in back to back seasons.

THERE WILL be soloists performing in Ice Spectacular and that includes two Wakefield residents. In the front row (left to right) are Kaylyn Stewart (Wakefield), Johanna Geary (Danvers), Sydney Rutledge (Beverly), Brianna Racamato (Wakefield), Samantha Way (Beverly), Courtney Hill (Ipswich) and Jacqueline Wonson (Gloucester). In the middle row (left to right) are Stephanie Longmuir (Topsfield), Deb Wood-Scearbo (Georgetown), Emma Rainville (Reading) and Nicole Butler (North Reading).
