Don’t forget leaf pickup, UU auction

A couple of quick notes about this weekend.

On Saturday the town will collect bagged leaves and yard waste from your curb. Take advantage of the program.

There is no limit to the number of bags you can put out but the public works department does have a couple of rules.

THE Wakefield Music Boosters are conducting a timely fundraiser this Saturday, Nov. 8 — leaf raking — as this photo of Mishelle Melanson suggests. A group of music and drama student volunteers will to come to your home along with a parent chaperone. They will fill bags with leaves for $5 per bag. You provide the leaf bags and they provide the labor. The students deliver a wonderful community service while raising money for a worthy cause. The Music Boosters is an enrichment program for the high school Marching Band, drama program and the townwide music program. STUDENTS AT THE Greenwood Elementary School are raising money for the Wakefield Interfaith Food Pantry by running a “Helping with Hot Chocolate” stand outside of the Most Blessed Sacrament Parish today. Over $70 was raised this morning and the stand will be open from 3 this afternoon to 8 tonight at the Precinct 4 polling place.
